Meet ORSO!
The Ontario Rope Skipping Organization is the not-for-profit governing body for the sport of rope skipping in Ontario. We provide administrative support to various competitive and recreational rope skipping organizations who provide rope skipping programming across Ontario. We also support competitive athletes as they compete in provincial, national, and international tournaments.
Mission
The Ontario Rope Skipping Organization’s mission is to increase recognition and credibility of rope skipping as a sport in Ontario through high quality and consistent programming across the province from year-to-year. This is done by supporting current rope skipping clubs and organizations, sharing rope skipping with new clubs and in new locations, and growing rope skipping across the province.
What is Rope Skipping?
Rope skipping is a wellness activity that promotes a healthy, active lifestyle and a positive attitude towards physical activity. It develops life skills, enhances community involvement, promotes healthy, independent lifestyles, and enhances quality of life. For athletes of all ages, participation in rope skipping promotes a positive self-image, self-respect, creativity, leadership and discipline. Our sport is recognized nationally and internationally and is included in mainstream multi-sport competitions. ORSO supports and promotes rope skipping as a wellness activity, a recreational pursuit, and a competitive sport in Ontario.
